In Fall 2020, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Lingnan University (LU) collaborate in offering ENTR 1001 – Building Your Own Future. This 3-credit course provides a transdisciplinary framework for students to build skill sets, knowledge, and entrepreneurial & humanitarian spirit essential to become entrepreneurial in the world that changes at a breakneck pace. The two universities come to an agreement to cooperate in promoting entrepreneurship together. We believe merging humanitarian engineering in entrepreneurship can be a breakthrough to modern education.

Entrepreneurship knows no boundaries. It transcends disciplines in business, science, technology, and liberal arts. Our program highlights the humanitarian spirit needed to actively focus on building future industries and organizations which are set to transform the world at a breakneck pace.

Who We Have ?

The teaching team composed of members from both institutes, led by Professor Erwin Huang from HKUST and Professor Albert Ko from LU. Two teams from HKUST and LU have identified the students going through the learning process lack of arts and humanities perspective in HKUST and engineering and technology perspective in LU.

Living in a Global world, the synergy of experience in mature and cutting edge technology, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship creates a robust team to lead students into real world problem-solving and igniting their entrepreneurial drive to take up everyday challenges in their community and around the world.

“ENTR1001 is an inclusive program because it is designed to stimulate innovators, of any discipline, to develop entrepreneurial leadership for solving complex interdisciplinary problems that are important to humanity.”
